DIFFERENT STYLES OF DANCE

Dancing can be broken up into four distinct styles - Ballroom or Standard, Latin American, New Vogue and English Old Time:

Ballroom Dancing

There are five main dances in the Ballroom style. These are Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango and Viennise Waltz. Click here for more information.

Latin American

The five main dances in this style are Cha-Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doblé and Jive. Click here for more information.

New Vogue Dancing

There are many dances in this style, very similar to English Old Time, in as much, that it is danced in sequence. Being based on parallel feet. The rhythms are Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and March. This style is predominantly danced in Australiasia and is slowly gaining acceptance in some Countries of the World. Click here for more information.
