ORGANISATIONS OF DANCING IN NEW ZEALAND

The main body responsible for the administration of dancing in New Zealand is the New Zealand Dance & Dancesport Council. This is the umbrella organisation that regulates competition dancing.

All couples must be registered with the New Zealand Dance & DanceSport Registration Authority.

Email the Registrar There are three Professional Bodies and one Amateur Association registered with the council. The Federal Association of Teachers Of Dance N.Z. Inc. (FATDNZ) which is affilliated to the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD), which conducts examinations and medal tests as well as competitions and the accreditation of dance teachers.
